Preparation for CQC Visit

This audit will identify areas that require attention or improvement within the GP practice and thus allow the GP practice to put its house in order so that when the CQC visit takes place the GP practice is better prepared to meet the required outcomes for medicines management.

The audit will be undertaken by an experienced clinical pharmacist who has a full understanding of the CQC medicines management requirements and also a thorough understanding of NHS GP practices.

Information about the Audit
How is the audit undertaken?
The audit is undertaken via a site visit at each branch of the GP practice (an additional fee will apply for each additional branch surgery). We have prepared a 153 point check which covers the CQC requirements for medicines management and also includes a wide range of legal and best practice recommendations for medicines management within GP practices. It incorporates the latest guidance on management of controlled drugs and also incorporates DSQS guidance.
Our pharmacist will provide information and advice during the visit and will compile a full written report detailing the outcomes of the audit and advice on areas that need to be addressed. Our report is presented in a similar format to that of the CQC visits thus making it easy for practices in preparation of their CQC visit.
